Common SMS questions

What if my 10DLC campaign gets rejected?

We resubmit with you. Carriers reject for reasons like vague use cases, missing opt-in language, or sample messages that look like spam — all fixable. Our compliance review happens before submission to catch the common ones, and any back-and-forth with the registrar is handled on our end. You stay in your inbox; we work the queue.

Can I send pictures and media (MMS)?

Yes. MMS is supported on every plan. Each MMS counts as 4 SMS units against your monthly bucket — so an MMS-heavy use case might fit better in Growth or Scale than Starter. Inbound MMS works too: customers can text photos back to you and they show up in your inbox alongside replies.

What happens if a carrier filters one of my messages?

You get a delivery receipt back through the dashboard with the carrier reason code. Most filtering happens because of unregistered or mismatched 10DLC traffic — and since we register everything before you send, the common cause is removed. If a specific message gets blocked, we have direct escalation paths to the carriers to investigate.

Can I bring my own phone number?

Yes. Porting is free and we handle the LOA paperwork. Most ports complete in 5-10 business days. Once the number is ported, it gets registered to your 10DLC campaign and is ready to send.

What does inbound SMS cost?

Nothing on local numbers. Inbound SMS to local DIDs is free and never counts against your plan bucket — only outbound messages do. Toll-free SMS bills at flat rate from balance (in either direction) since the per-message cost is higher; that’s separate from the SMS plan bucket.

Does this work with my CRM or app?

A public API isn’t live yet — most teams use the web inbox today. If you need a specific integration (CRM sync, automation, custom workflows), mention it on the enterprise form and we’ll scope it directly. Per-customer integrations are how we’ve built around teams whose workflows don’t fit the standard inbox.

Can I import my existing contact list?

Yes — CSV import is built in. The hard requirement: every contact you import must have current, verifiable opt-in consent (TCPA-compliant). That means you have a record of when and how each person agreed to receive text messages from your business — a checked opt-in box, a written confirmation, a documented service relationship. We don’t accept "purchased lists" or scraped contacts. The risk isn’t just legal ($500-$1,500 per non-consented text); carriers will filter or block your number, and your 10DLC campaign can be suspended. If your list is fresh and consented, we make the import easy.
